I explored new interaction paradigms to understand how different in-car interfaces affect a driver’s cognitive load. Using a driving simulator, I compared touchscreen, voice assistant, and gesture-based interactions to uncover how each impacts attention and safety. You can read more about the findings in my article: Why Touchscreens Don’t Work in Cars.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay made waves at this year’s Google I/O and WWDC respectively, each of them taking steps to become more mainstream in the market. Unfortunately, however, there aren’t a lot of UI kits provided by Apple or Google to design those experiences, so I put together some of the key screens such as music player, maps view, contact list view, “now calling” view, voice assistant, etc. You can download those UI kits below. Enjoy!
As EV fleets scale, managing charging schedules, vehicle status, and driver routes becomes increasingly complex. At EVgo, I set out to design a unified dashboard that brings clarity to that chaos. The tool empowers fleet managers to oversee their entire operation at a glance—tracking vehicle health, optimizing charging times, and coordinating routes—all while giving drivers an intuitive interface to stay on schedule. The result is a system that turns a fragmented, data-heavy process into a seamless, real-time experience for both sides of the fleet.
